High Beech, Epping Forest
I was particularly attracted by the carvings that have regrettably been inflicted on the bark of this fine old beech tree for generations. Perhaps it is a sad reflection on the people concerned that this is probably the only way they can achieve some measure of imortality, for this distinguished old tree will undoubtably outlive them by many, many years. I didn't feel the need to carve my initials, hopefully my photographs will be my legacy. Bronica ETRSi, 50mm lens, Fuji Velvia.
